`Mathrubhumi' to felicitate freedom fighters in Kollam on Wednesday
Kollam: As part of celebrating the 75th year anniversary of Mahatma Gandhiji's visit to Mathrubhumi, freedom fighters in Kollam would be felicitated on Wednesday at a function to be held at Sopanam Auditorium near Kollam Public library at 4 pm.
Poet, journalist and a great pandit in Gandhian ideologies Kumar Prashanth from Bihar will inaugurate the function. Mathrubhumi managing editor P V Chandran will preside. Janapith laureate Prof ONV Kurup will be the chief guest. Panmana ashramam Mutt head Swami Pranavananda Theerathapadar, Kollam Jonakppuram Valiyapalli Imam Kadacakl Abdul Azeez Maulavi will speak. ONV Kururp will release the translation of `Unto this Last' by John Ruskin by handing over a copy to poetess Rose Mary. A seminar on ` Mahathmaji and Media' would be held prior to the function which would be inaugurated by journalist Kuldip Nayyar.
